Compact, spacious inside with the higher roof line. Comfortable and quiet. The the premium package makes this thing is like a hot rod, luxery spaceship. It’s peppy fun to drive.

Mercedes - Benz nailed the 2021 total redesign of this compact SUV. Trade reviews consistently placed this new model ahead of the BMW X1, Audi Q3 and Volvo XC40 in style, performance and comfort. The 4 cylinder turbo charged engine delivers excellent responsiveness without excessive fuel consumption. Cabin is spacious, controls are logical and the MBUX system is state of the art and packed with features. Added the premium package, heated seats, panoramic roof and garage door opener options to the base GLA 250 4Matic adding about $4K to the cost. Difficult to find this model with a reasonable blend of options as dealer inventory tends be either base or fully loaded models.
    • My favorite car so far

I've owned it for a few weeks, so take this review how you will. I purchased a 2021 GLA 4matic with the matte gray paint. It's a beautiful vehicle, ivory interior, a panoramic roof and I actually prefer the track pad next to the center console over the 2025 version. Personally, I love having buttons and a more tactile experience, but everyone is different. The car drives well, though it's got a sensitive brake and I'm getting used to that. The most dangerous design "flaw" this vehicle has is the gear shift. It's in the exact same location and looks exactly like my windshield wipers on the Subaru I drove before this vehicle. I'm pretty paranoid about accidentally putting my car in neutral while driving down the highway when the rain starts... but I think it's worth it. I just have to be mindful and get used to the change, but I love this car so much. I'm a small woman, 5'2", and I have a hard time seeing out of certain vehicles. I can see really well with minimal blind spots in this vehicle. It's got great visibility and maneuverability. I easily get in and out of the vehicle and I just love all the luxurious upgrades that my subaru did not have. I love the seats, the lights, the tech, the way it handles, I love the whole thing. I'm really proud of this vehicle and I'm really looking forward to driving it for the next 7 or 8 years hopefully.
